Breezy Breakfast on Oct. 26 to Market Parkade & 1st secure biking facility

(source: Girls On Bicycles !)

Come enjoy a social breakfast with Guelph Coalition for Active Transportation to celebrate Guelph’s first secure bicycle parking facility!

Date and time: Saturday, Oct. 26 at 8am
Place : Breezy Corners, 44 Macdonell St, Guelph
RSVP is appreciated at info@gcat.ca

After breakfast, for those interested, we will ride to the Market Parkade on Wilson St. at 9:30am  to take part in a photo op of cyclists using the bicycle parking facility. (If interested in the short ride and  photo op, please RSVP at info@gcat.ca by Sunday Oct. 20)

As an organization, GCAT is dedicated to getting more people to walk and ride bikes. Of course, we would prefer an entire bicycle parking facility as they have in Amsterdam, but this secure bicycle parking is the first step in a transition to a sustainable future where more people can use their bikes on a regular basis, without fear of them being stolen.

GCAT will also be part of the Parkade opening ceremony at 10:15am, where GCAT president Yvette Tendick will speak about the importance of cycling in the community, as well as secure locations to park our bikes.

The Parkade opening event continues in front of City Hall from 10-2pm, with many events taking place.

Hope to see you come out!
