Volunteer for Guelph Pedal Poll 2025!

Posted on May 26, 2025 by Andrea Bidgood

Every bike counts – and you can help make Guelph a safer, more bike-friendly city!

We’re looking for volunteers to join the Guelph Pedal Poll 2025, part of a national initiative by Vélo Canada Bikes. This annual count helps track how, where, and when people are biking in our community. Your efforts contribute to real data that supports better cycling infrastructure and inclusive planning across Canada.

It’s That Easy? Just a Phone, the App & a Comfy Spot!

All you need to do is sign up for a location and 1hr time slot, bring your phone with the Pedal Poll app, and something comfortable to sit on for an hour at your location. Seriously, it’s that simple. Perfect for high school volunteer hours!

Dates:
📆 Weekday Count: Tues, June 3, 2025
📆 Weekend Count: Sat, June 7, 2025

How It Works

Volunteers pick a time slot and a location to count cyclists for one hour on a weekday and one hour on a weekend. That’s it!

We’re using the same locations as last year to collect long-term (longitudinal) data – which helps us see trends and push for change.

Why It Matters

Pedal Poll focuses on equity – counting everyone on wheels, from kids and seniors to riders of mobility devices. Your counts give visibility to people who are often overlooked in transportation decisions.

Whether you’re a regular rider, a community builder, or just want to lend a hand, this is a great way to make an impact.
