The Blueprint: Guelph’s One Water Plan
A comprehensive strategy to manage our water resources sustainably. This plan will impact drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and how our city adapts to climate change.
Why does this matter for active transportation?
Stormwater & Flooding – Poor drainage leads to icy sidewalks, flooded trails, and unsafe bike lanes. Smart water management can improve accessibility year-round.
Green Infrastructure – Rain gardens, permeable pavements, and bioswales can enhance trails and streets, making active transportation safer and more enjoyable.
Road Salt & Water Quality – Salt use impacts our drinking water and ecosystems. Better winter maintenance strategies can protect both water and mobility.
Join the open house February 5, 2025 (4:30–6:30 PM) at City Hall or participate online to share your input.
