Ghost Bike Ride In Memory of Susan Bard
Posted September 15, 2024
Dear GCAT Members and Supporters,
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Susan Bard, a cyclist, former GCAT member, and volunteer. Susan tragically lost her life following a collision with a vehicle on Victoria Road North.
In honour of Susan, and in collaboration with other organizations, we are planning a Ghost Bike Ride to celebrate her life, her dedication to active transportation, and her numerous contributions to the community. Her daughter Corinna and the rest of Susan’s family, is deeply touched by this gesture and fully supports the ride.
Event Details:
- Date: September 28
- Time: 1:00 PM
- Starting Location: City Hall, Guelph
We will ride together to the site of the collision on Victoria Road North, where a white Ghost Bike will be placed in Susan’s memory.
We invite you to join us in solidarity and to honour Susan’s incredible contributions. She was a shining example of a sustainable, active lifestyle and a fierce advocate for active transportation. Personally, I fondly remember crossing paths with Susan on city streets and trails —she was always riding her bike with such enthusiasm!
