General
What is GCAT?
The Guelph Community for Active Transportation (GCAT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting walking, cycling, and transit in Guelph, Ontario. We advocate for safer streets, better cycling infrastructure, and more sustainable transportation options for our community.
Is GCAT a registered charity or non-profit?
GCAT is a registered not-for-profit organization incorporated under the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 (ONCA). We are committed to transparent governance and community accountability.
While we are not currently a registered charity, we periodically evaluate whether charitable status would better serve our mission and our supporters. If you have thoughts on this — or feel that charitable tax receipts would encourage you to contribute — we’d love to hear from you.
When is the next Annual General Meeting (AGM)?
Our AGM is held annually, typically in the spring. The date and location are announced on our News & Events page, through our newsletter, and on our social media channels. All members are welcome to attend and participate either virtually or in person.
