What You Can Do
If you’ve ever felt shaken by a near miss, a dangerous intersection, or the injury or loss of someone moving through their city under their own power, your voice matters here.
- Write to City Council – Ask for protected bike infrastructure on high-risk corridors.
- Share your story – Data tells one story. People tell another.
- When residents speak about their experiences; the school run that feels unsafe, the commute that feels like survival, the friend who doesn’t ride anymore — policy starts to shift.
If you post your story on socials tag it with #SafeStreetsGuelph

- Support all vulnerable road users – Whether walking, wheeling, or riding, demand safer design.
- Get involved or donate – Support GCAT and ARC in their ongoing advocacy for safer streets.
- Use your voice – Share this memorial. Talk about why it matters. The more we speak about traffic violence, the harder it becomes to ignore. No loss on our roads is acceptable, and no one should have to die to make our streets safer.
