GCAT - Guelph Coalition for Active Transportation

Downtown Renewal Project – Take the Survey

Please fill out the City’s Survey!

As the City of Guelph creates plans to replace aging infrastructure, it is asking for feedback to shape two Environmental Assessments (EAs) for projects in downtown:

• The Wyndham Street EA will examine the function of the road for all users including the number of traffic lanes and available active transportation infrastructure.

• The other EA will examine the Macdonell Street Bridge and Allan Dam structures across the Speed River to confirm required improvements and the preferred solution for each.

These two important projects have been top priorities for GCAT for many years and are key to how many areas of our city can be better connected to our downtown with much safer Active Transportation Infrastructure like protected bike lanes and wider, shaded sidewalks. Our feedback can shape how downtown is used and accessed going forward — a key opportunity to push for GCAT’s mission to increase modal share to more active transportation.
