CALL TO ACTION – Help us secure protected bike lanes for downtown Guelph

On Tuesday Feb 6th, the Committee of the Whole will be voting on the staff recommended design that includes protected bike lanes in downtown, as well as much needed improvements for the pedestrian right of way.

While we would ultimately love to see the city take a more ambitious design for the downtown’s main street by including a protected intersection at St. Georges Square intersection, GCAT is thrilled that city staff are recommending that Wyndham St N (between Carden St and Woolwich St) be reconfigured with fewer traffic lanes, parallel parking and protected bike lanes that will be able to accommodate the summer patio program.

There are a few things you can do today to secure protected bike lanes for Downtown Guelph:

  1. Email the Mayor and the Committee of the Whole to tell them you support making the Wyndham Street North Cross Section and St George’s Square Intersection safer for people who walk, bike and shop.
